And Ashtar does, too…___The Icehome series features all of the adventure, humor and community you’ve come to expect in the Ice Planet Barbarians series, but it stands on its own. You do not need to read the other series (or be caught up) in order to read VERONICA’S DRAGON. I do recommend reading LAUREN’S BARBARIAN to get the full experience. Enjoy!

This book is brain candy. Wait! Don't quit reading yet! It is an excellent example of its type; the heroine is not too stupid to live (TSTL), the hero is not so very alpha that you hope someone brains him with something heavy, and the supporting characters are (mostly) fleshed out enough that they could be real (if slightly Pollyanna-ish) people. The worldbuilding is interesting enough that you want to know more, and the plot is, well, kinda unrealistic, but not *stupidly* so, if you know what I mean. Besides, if you're looking for gritty realism and angst, what are you doing in this section of the store?The upshot is that you can relax when you read this book; secure in the knowledge that there will be hot sex, some snappy dialog, everything will be resolved happily, and nothing really terrible will happen. This review is not snarky or patronizing; I really think that comfort books, like comfort food, have a good and important place in the world.
